RE: All Public Health Measures Remain in Place at
Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital

While the Province of Ontario mandates and restrictions are loosening and many sectors are returning to a more familiar (pre-COVID) environment, the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital (PSFDH) continues to follow all public health measures and requirements such as:
  • Hand hygiene;
  • Physical distancing of 6 feet/2 metres (minimum);
  • Masking when in the hospital building; and
  • Mandatory proof of vaccination for all visitors remains in place.
Universal masking continues to be mandatory at the PSFDH. This means that all people entering into or working at our hospital must wear a mask even if they do not have any signs of an infection.

Patients and essential visitors coming to PSFDH for an outpatient clinic/procedure appointment or visit must also wear a mask or face covering. After completing the screening process at the entrance, patients and visitors will be asked to sanitize their hands and change their mask to a hospital-issued mask.

“We ask that when you come to either site of our hospital, that you respect the policies and practices that are in place and complete the screening process and wear a mask. This will ensure the safety of our community and hospital environment,” said Michael Cohen, President & CEO.

We understand that the pandemic has been tiring and we thank you for your patience, understanding and adherence to our guidelines. We will continue to monitor the evolving situation and change our policies as the hospital continues to implement a carefully thought out and measured approach focusing on safety and quality of care.
