Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital offers a comprehensive range of surgery services through all stages of life, from infants to the elderly, closer to home. The Surgical, Perioperative and Anesthesiology program provides services for all patients who require surgical care at Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital. This includes outpatient clinic visits, operating room procedures and inpatient surgical stay.
We offer advanced specialized care in the following specialties:
- General surgery: abdominal, intestinal, stomach and gallbladder surgeries
- Gynecology: female reproductive surgery
- Ophthalmology: eye surgery
- Orthopedic surgery: bone and joint surgery
- Urology: surgery of the urinary tract and male reproductive organs
Your multidisicplinary care team may consist of registered nurses, registered practical nurses, surgeons, students, physiotherapists, respiratory therapists, and an anesthesiologist.

The surgery program is shared between the two sites.
Smiths Falls Site
There are three state-of-the-art operating suites including a dedicated endoscopy suite a the Smiths Falls Site. Primarily, the surgical areas based at the Smiths Falls Site are: urology, gynaecology, general surgery and cataract.
GWM Site (Perth)
The GWM Site houses two operating theatres with orthopaedic, general surgery and endoscopy procedures being performed.
