With the
redevelopment project getting underway, the staff are beginning to
notice subtle changes to the environment. Flags and signs
announcing Aecon as the general contractor have been erected on the
premises and some new faces can be seen in the halls.
On Tuesday,
September 2, 2008, two staff information sessions were held to
introduce staff to the key players for the upcoming redevelopment.
John Woroschuk was introduced as the project manager for Aecon
Buildings and the core site team, which is comprised of internal
players, are Linda Bisonette, Vice President, Patient Care Services
& CNE, Brian Allen, Vice President, Financial & Support Services and
Todd Stepanuik, President & CEO.
Staff members
were also updated on the immediate changes during what is to be
called “Phase 1” of the construction and were given an opportunity
to pose questions. All enjoyed a piece of cake in celebration of
the recent announcement and approval of the long-awaited and much
needed redevelopment of the Smiths Falls Site.
John Woroschuk
brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in working in
the sector of hospital construction and redevelopment. He is very
cognizant of the nature of the health care business and aware of the
needs of our community.
