I am honoured to serve as the Board Chair of the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital. Your hospital board is a dynamic group of 16 individuals who live and work in the Perth and Smiths Falls area. We provide the strategic direction to this organization.  Your hospital board members are volunteers who give thousands of hours each year to help improve health care in our communities.

These are exciting times for our hospital. The redevelopment of the Smiths Falls site will include 58,000 square feet of new space. When all is finished we will truly have two first-class hospital sites. We are also introducing CT service to our hospital. The people of our area will no longer have to travel away for this much needed service.

Finally, I am always reminded of the tremendous dedication of our staff, physicians and volunteers. They are the truly the heart of our hospital. The Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital is recognized in Ontario as a high performing hospital for acute and emergency care. It’s our people who truly make a difference.
