The Hospital's mission is to provide quality care based on the
principles of total quality management for acute and chronic in-patients,
as well as provision of emergency and ambulatory care. The Hospital is
also committed to the development and support of health promotion programs
in cooperation with other professional, community, and planning agencies.
State of the Art Technology
The recent addition of a number of specialized care services, eg.
Holmium laser, microwave endometrial ablation, as well as the commitment
of the hospital to constantly update and stay in line with changing
technologies demands a commitment to continuous improvement and upgrading.
The hospital has been able to meet the growing demands for new
technologies in all programs and services. This reflects a commitment on
the part of the community and administration to equip its hospital and
staff with the best possible tools.
Since its opening in December 1999, the new Dialysis Unit has been a
welcome addition, especially for patients who frequently travelled to
Kingston and back, several times weekly.
Both sites have completely renovated their Emergency rooms.
Partnerships
The Hospital is committed to pursuing active partnerships with other
hospitals and community agencies. Sponsorship of Lanark County Mental
Health, Lanark County Support Services and the Lanark County Sexual
Assault Support Program are well established.
An affiliation with the Healthcare Network of Southeastern Ontario
(Kingston), and the Ottawa Hospitals is an important and integral part of
the hospital's service to its community.
Affiliation agreements with the Ottawa and Kingston Regional Cancer
Centres allow many patients to receive care and treatment closer to home.
