The recent addition
of a number of specialized care services, e.g. Holmium laser,
microwave endometrial ablation, as well as the commitment of the
hospital to constantly update and stay in line with changing
technologies demands a commitment to continuous improvement and
upgrading. The hospital has been able to meet the growing demands
for new technologies in all programs and services. This reflects a
commitment on the part of the community and administration to equip
its hospital and staff with the best possible tools.
Since its opening in
December 1999, the new Dialysis Unit has been a welcome addition,
especially for patients who frequently travelled to Kingston and
back, several times weekly.
Both sites have
completely renovated their Emergency rooms.
The Smiths
Falls site of the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital is
currently undergoing a Redevelopment Project.
The $43 million project
(based on the most recent costing)
will substantially improve the
quality of patient care that the organization is able to provide to
the community, and will greatly improve the working environment for
personnel, physicians and volunteers.
